iPhone 6s Likely To Arrive Sept. 9
The most likely date for the event is Sept. 9,according to a report in BuzzFeed News. That happens to be the exact same date Apple picked last year to show off the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Apple hasn't sent invites to the media yet, and it probably won't until a week or two before the event takes place.Apple's annual fall event is just a few weeks away, and this year the company has lots of exciting things in store, including the highly anticipated iPhone 6s. The date isn't official yet, but is strongly believed to be arriving after Labor Day.
What's on deck? Plenty.
First, new iPhones.
Apple will show off the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, updated versions of last year's iPhones. Though the chassis and displays will carry over mostly unchanged, the innards will see a significant bump in capabilities.

The most compelling new feature will be Force Touch displays. Apple revealed Force Touch earlier this year on the Apple Watch and later the MacBook. Force Touch can distinguish between a light tap and a deep press. That sensitivity will add new ways to interact with apps on the iPhone. What will be most interesting about this potential feature is how Apple might allow developers to make use of it.
The new iPhone's camera sensor will be bumped from 8 megapixels to 12 megapixels. Apple will also improve the processor, memory, and LTE speeds. Storage capacities will remain at 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will come in four colors, including black, silver, gold, and a yet-to-be-revealed hue.

Next up, a new AppleTV.
Apple's streaming video box is due for a major overhaul. The chassis itself will see a modest upgrade with a slimmer design. Apple is expected to improve the device with its A8 processor and a boost in internal storage. (The current model has been largely unchanged since 2012.) The AppleTV remote will be all-new, featuring a touchpad for interacting with the user interface rather than the limited buttons on the current remote.
More importantly, the AppleTV will include a reprogrammed operating system. The box will let people interact with Siri (Apple's voice assistant), and will feature an app store and the ability to run apps. Apple is prepared to offer developers an SDK so they can populate the AppleTV app store with fun and entertaining applications.
Last, Apple is expected to show off new iPads.
The iPad Air and iPad Mini may get some improved specs, but the big story might be the long-rumored iPad Pro. The iPad Pro is believed to feature a larger display (12.9 inches) and more advanced software. BuzzFeed says the larger tablet has about a 50/50 chance of showing up.
